Wazirx co-founder Nischal Shetty has addressed rising concerns regarding the remaining assets following the July 18 cyberattack. He clarified that misinformation has unnecessarily alarmed users by suggesting these assets are lost. Shetty emphasized that such claims are unfounded and merely intended to gain attention. He also reassured users that Wazirx’s Proof of Reserves (PoR) will be shared after securing a new custody provider.

Addressing User Concerns

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Shetty responded to user fears about the exchange's handling of the cyberattack aftermath, particularly regarding delayed withdrawals. He acknowledged the users' requests for proof of reserves and stated:

“Some people have misguided/scared everyone that remaining assets are gone too. They have no basis to say it except to get more attention from you.”

Shetty highlighted that unaffected tokens are being moved to new wallets and that they are exploring new custody providers. He stressed the importance of caution in their approach, assuring users that updates regarding PoR will be available once the process is finalized.

Warning About Fake Accounts

Shetty also alerted users to a concerning trend of fake accounts impersonating Wazirx. He explained:

“If someone is supporting the prompt resolution then these fake accounts are targeting and stating they are Wazirx accounts which is not true at all.”

In his communications, Shetty underscored the importance of focusing on constructive solutions rather than engaging with misinformation. He reiterated that clarity has been progressively provided and a comprehensive plan addressing token-related issues would soon be shared, along with AMAs to resolve any outstanding concerns. He urged the community to prioritize finding solutions over spreading negativity.
