In 2024, Metaplanet experienced a transformative year, increasing its Bitcoin holdings significantly. By year-end, the company held 1,762 BTC, valued at around $172.42 million. This growth was fueled by strategic acquisitions, including a notable purchase of 620 BTC for $60 million in December 2024, at an average price of $96,000 per BTC.

The CEO of Metaplanet, Simon Gerovich, highlighted that 2024 was marked by record achievements and an expansion of their Bitcoin treasury. He stated that the goal for 2025 is to reach 10,000 BTC. To achieve this ambitious target, Metaplanet plans to utilize various capital market tools such as loans, convertible bonds, and equity, which have already proven effective in funding their acquisitions in 2024.
